Weekend Recap

Friday, birthmom had doctor appointment.  Everything is fine.  Doctor did say that she does not do scheduled inductions, so we’ll see how long she goes. She has another appointment on Friday.

Seth and I have been researching vans and prepared to travel to Cleveland to look at and possibly purchase a Toyota Sienna Van on Saturday.  Late Friday evening, the dealer called us and told us it was just sold.  Just like that.

So Saturday, instead of purchasing a van, we put more finishing touches on the rooms–we purchased blinds and another crib mattress and we’re pretty much ready to go.  We need to place two wall hangings and I think that will be it! It looks really nice up there…and with this complete we will have officially “redone” and painted EVERY room in our house excluding the entryway!

Yesterday, I made my first blueberry pie (made from blueberries picked in Michigan in August).  It was/is yummy!

We’re starting our search again this week for possible vans.  We have one on the radar, but Seth feels like it may not be the best bet to get the most for our trade in–based on the other cars that they currently have on the lot….so we’ll see.

I’ve also seen this one…..and I’m trying to obtain more information on it.

audit is over

I’m relieved. Nothing major found.

being audited

as i type.  haha

she’s sitting in the other room…going through 10 of my charts.  Most of them were closed charts: actually 60% are closed….and only 20% are cases that I actually opened since starting to work here. so my odds are good 🙂

maybe i’ll have something more fun to post about soon…..children and minivans 🙂

hmmm….

birthmom had ultrasound today.  tech said that “if i had to guess…I would say girl….but don’t paint your nursery pink yet….the cord is still between the legs so it’s hard to tell”

so i guess we’ll find out at delivery.  i’m a little bummed.

only about 6 more weeks to go—if she goes until the due date.

to top off

To top off yesterday’s news, the birthmom called me on the way home from work: just to check in and say she was doing fine. Awesome and unexpected.

Seth and I had dinner and did some errands. Took a look at a minivan…and discussed more about that purchase…and researched some more. I think I am leaning toward the Toyota Sienna: because you can fit three carseats/boosters in the middle row.  We’ve thought about the Honda Pilot & the Honda Odyssey, but something is comforting to me to think that the children can be RIGHT there in the middle row, and not have to be sitting in ALL THE WAY in the back.  Maybe when they’re older 🙂  Anyway, it’s also really CRAZY to us to even be thinking about a minivan. We traded the Lumina last year for our little wagon–because we were preparing for ONE child.  Look where we are now.  So I’m really having to ease into this transition to the minivan.

Anyway. We’re going to accept the 3 year old boy! I’ll call him “A” on here 🙂  I need to put a sidebar on the right, so we can keep up with names!

news

I talked to someone from our agency today, who was instant messaging with our director in Ethiopia, who said “M” “is next to me right now, she is such a delightful child” and later went on to say “and tell her that “M” has her picture album”.

We also received 39 pictures and a medical of an available 3 year old boy.  Amazing.  We’ve really been praying about this and we could have just seen our son for the first time today! We’ll see.

Also: I’m near the end of this book:

and may start this book (if Seth is finished reading it):

or this book:

This weekend we’ll also try to finish up the “maybe baby” room and I’ll hopefully post pictures.  We didn’t even need to drywall.  Just re-plaster.  Well, I shouldn’t say we–because I take no credit, Seth has done all the work!
